Polonnaruwa Vatadage in Sri Lanka

 In the Ancient Sri Lanka The kingdom Polonnaruwa Served as second major capital of it. flourishing from the 11th to the 13th century after the decline and destruction of the former capital, Anuradhapura. Initially established as a military post and briefly ruled by the South Indian Chola dynasty in the late 10th century, it was recaptured and made the capital by Sinhalese King Vijayabahu I in 1070. The kingdom reached its zenith under King Parakramabahu I (1153–1186), who oversaw a Golden Age characterized by sophisticated irrigation projects, notably the vast Parakrama Samudra reservoir, and significant architectural and cultural development. National Train Musium Kadugannawa in Sri Lanka

If you interesting about railway history you must visit to this railway musium  when that you can learn more things about railway history and see many things . Many old locomotives, carriages, Machineries, and Equipments have been exhibited at Railway Museum . This is located in Kadugannawa Kandy District in Central Province . Everybody can easily find it because it is in left side of Kandy colombo ( A1 ) when we drive from colombo side . 

Sri Lanka Railways Declared to open National Railway Museum at Kadugannawa on 27th December 2014 to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the first train run. The first Train of the Ceylon Railway operated from Colombo Terminus station to Ambepussa conveying the Duke of Brabant of Belgium on 27th December 1864, This Museum Opening was held with the presence of Gathering of Special Guests and Public. A Memorial Stamp, Memorial First Day Cover, Souvenir for the 150th celebration, a coffee table book and DVD was also issued in this occasion A Replica Steam Train was also operated from Colombo fort to Kadugannawa conveying special invitees memorizing the first train run which held 150 years ago.

This locomotive is less wide than others , because that now it is retired and it's name PUNCHI KOCHCHIYA .
